Initially, it was thought the animal may have been beaten, tied to a fence post and shot.

However, RCMP say their investigation has found the animal wasn’t beaten or abused.

A necropsy indicated that there were no other injuries sustained by the dog prior to its death.

RCMP also say in a release that it’s believed the animal was “put down in a humane manner.”
