The Saskatchewan Roughriders appear to have found their replacement for Marcus “Chunky” Adams on the defensive line.
Import Dario Romero has signed on the dotted line with the Riders. Romero spent the past three seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos where he recorded 24 tackles and a sack in 15 starts with the Eskimos in 2010.
“We are very excited about the strength and talent that Dario will provide to our defensive line,” Roughrider GM Brendan Taman said in a release. “Dario has been a proven commodity in this league and we look forward to seeing him in Green and White.”
Romero also spent some time in the NFL playing with the Miami Dolphins from 2002 to 2005. Terms of his deal with the Riders were not released.
