The City of Vancouver and the Musqueam Indian Band have signed a deal to provide the band with several services including police, fire and animal control.
It’s one of the first modern long-term deals to be signed between a municipality and a First Nation band.

The Musqueam plan to develop a parcel of land near UBC with high-density housing, retail and a hotel project.
The services provided will come at market rates and the agreement will be in place for the next 40 years.
