LEASK, Sask. – Mounties say a significant explosion started a fire that destroyed a hotel in a small Saskatchewan town.

RCMP say they are asking for the public’s help to find who is responsible for the explosion at the Leask Hotel.

It happend on Feb. 9 at the century hotel in Leask, about 100 kilometres north of Saskatoon.

No one was injured.

Witnesses said all that was left of the landmark building was a chimney surrounded by a pile of rubble and the glow from the blaze could be seen several kilometres from the community.

Police are going over footage obtained from several cameras in the area that captured the crime scene.
