Bail denied to man charged with attempted murder in Saskatoon

SASKATOON – A man accused of attempted murder after an attack at a Saskatoon bar has been denied bail.

Bobby Liebel, 24, was charged after police were called to Rock Bottom on Broadway Avenue on Dec. 14, 2013 following a report someone had sprayed bear mace inside the bar.

A 33-year-old man was found outside with life-threatening injuries and is now recovering from his injuries. A 19-year-man suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police say firearms and other weapons were used in the attack and it was not a random act.

Liebel will be back in court later this month.

A publication ban has been put in place.
