CALGARY- You no longer have to go to New York City to catch some of the world’s top Broadway shows.

Broadway Across Canada is bringing a number of acclaimed performances to Calgary this year: The Book of Mormon, Flashdance- The Musical and Wicked.

First up is The Book of Mormon, which will run for one week starting March 31. Written by the creators of South Park, the show is a nine-time Tony award winner.

Back by popular demand is Wicked, which broke box office records and has won dozens of awards, including a Grammy and three Tony awards. The musical last came to Calgary in 2011, and its new run will happen from July 23-August 17.

Finally, Flashdance- The Musical will come to town in November, featuring all the dance moves and hit songs made famous in the movie three decades ago. That show runs from Nov. 18-23.
