WATCH: Vernon school bus crashes

VERNON, BC – Icy road conditions are likely to blame after a private school bus crashed while turning a corner Thursday morning.

The male bus driver has been taken to hospital for a neck injury. While 19 students were taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital for assessment, three are said to have minor injuries.

The accident happened on Reimer Road near Pleasant Valley Road around 8:30 A.M., prompting RCMP to issue a warning for travelers.

Police say Reimer Road is extremely slippery and don’t recommend drivers use the route.

The bus, which landed on its side as it rounded the corner, belongs to Vernon Christian School.
