A six week season ticket renewal campaign is underway and the team is optimistic all season tickets up for renewal will be sold out.

“I feel really good about signing back up for tickets,” said Steven Dreger, a Jets fan.

Many season tickets in the 300 section were purchased in 2011 on 3-year commitments, which have almost expired.

With the Jets last in their division and the inconsistent team booed off the ice last week, tickets are becoming easier to find.

This is good news for the over 3,000 fans on the season ticket waiting list who are eager to fill any seats that become available.

Part of the draw is the new renovations set to start in May on the 10-year-old arena.

“We think it’s going to provide a real neat opportunity for folks at 300 to have all the levels of services they should expect at that concourse level that might be at 100 now, so we’re bringing the 300 level up and beyond where it’s certainly been today,” said Jim Ludlow, President of True North.

Changes will be made to allow for circulation of fans between all levels, more washrooms, food and drink options, and improvement to the general appearance of the building.

Construction at the MTS Centre is set to be done in time for the puck to drop for the 2014/15 hockey season.
