To many Winnipeggers, it’s a lifeline – from finding out where to park to when their bus is arriving.
And this past month, the city’s hotline celebrated two years old with a major milestone.
Winnipeg’s 311 service has received more than 3.6-million inquiries since first opening up their phone lines in January 2009.
76 per cent of those calls were looking for information with the most frequent being for transit schedules.
During the last three months, non-city services inquiries were the second most common information request with 14,794 calls.
That’s followed up by garbage and recycling along with recreation and leisure with 10,903 and 10,333 requests respectively.
Street maintenance rounds out the top five inquiries.
