UPDATE: Kelowna tagger falsely identified

KELOWNA — Within a few hours of RCMP releasing video surveillance of a tagging incident in Kelowna and media sources posting that footage online, readers called out who they believed the suspect was.

RCMP now say that the identification was incorrect, but the young woman who claims to be responsible appears to be taking responsibility for her actions.

“A lawyer has since contacted police to arrange for the correct suspect to turn herself in,” says Kelowna RCMP Constable Kris Clark.

When that happens, she will be released on a Promise to Appear in court at a later date to face probable mischief charges.
