Grizzly bears in B.C.’s great bear rainforest are worth more to the province alive than dead, according to a new study.
The study was funded by Tides Canada and Nature Conservancy USA.

It found that “bear viewing” in the rainforest generated 12 times more visitor revenue than bear hunting in 2012.
The study also says there are just 11 jobs for hunting guides in the Great Bear Rainforest, compared to more than 500 people who work for bear viewing companies.
