Stars kick off awards season at People’s Choice Awards

TORONTO — Hollywood’s award season kicks off Wednesday night with the People’s Choice Awards and Canadians — and made-in-Canada shows and movies — will be in the spotlight.

The show will be hosted by Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs of 2 Broke Girls and will include performances by OneRepublic, Sara Bareilles and Brad Paisley.

Among those set to walk the red carpet are Jennifer Hudson, Drew Barrymore, Robert Downey Jr., Sean Hayes, Heidi Klum, Queen Latifah, Melissa McCarthy, L.L. Cool J and Sarah Michelle Gellar as well as the stars of shows like The Big Bang Theory, The Walking Dead and Parenthood.

The People’s Choice Awards are different from most shows because the winners are determined by fan votes and notified in advance that they’ve won. (Tune in to see who acts the most surprised.)
