TRURO, N.S. – Two fires Wednesday night in Nova Scotia’s Colchester County are under investigation by the deputy fire marshal.

The first fire broke out at a house in Londonderry Mines around 8:30 p.m.

Great Village fire Chief Dave Lundie says no one was home when the fire broke out.

He says the home is still standing but there is water, smoke and fire damage to the interior.

A few hours later, crews were called to a fire that caused damage to Johnson’s Automotive Centre in the Valley area.

The fire was coming out the back of the building when crews arrived on the scene.
