MONTREAL, Que. – A 52-year-old woman was left shaken but otherwise unharmed Tuesday night after a man forced his way into her apartment in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district.
According to Montreal police Constable Daniel Lacoursière, a man in his 20s entered the apartment on Boubonnière Ave. about 10:40 p.m. and grabbed the woman’s purse before fleeing out the back door.
He dropped the purse a few metres from the building, however, and the victim was able to retrieve it a short time later. She was suffering from shock when police arrived, Lacoursière said.
"This is not the first time this has happened at this address," he added.
Police had no suspects by 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, and no arrests had been made.
