Sunday morning I reported live on my Global TV Sunday Morning Tech Talk show via Skype on what is hot at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
I expect a rush of huge 4K Ultra HD TVs to follow last week’s announcements of 105-inch curved UHDTVs from LG and Samsung. The bad news, you and I will never be able to afford one, less even getting one into a normal home or apartment.
The good news is that prices on 4K TVs are coming down quickly. Several models will be announced at less than $1,000.
Personal health care will be big at CES 2014. From wearable monitors in bracelets, body forming to your ear and embedded in fabrics, you will see them everywhere, but they will still be pricey.
Expect a flurry of supersized smartphones also good enough to be take-anywhere tablets, also known as Phablets.
How about a 3D printer that can print a 3D dessert of your own design with edible material instead of resin. Imagine printing and serving customized dessert to friends.
After 3D dessert, when you brush your teeth with the Beam Brush, you can share your brushing techniques with your dentist via the Bluetooth transmitted brushing sessions to your smartphone. But I wonder, after all the hype I got from these folks, whether the actual brushing is as good as Philips Sonicare clinically designed brushes? Stay tuned.
