Liquor license suspension restored

KELOWNA– The courts have upheld a liquor license suspension for a downtown Kelowna strip club with a controversial history.

Liquid Zoo owner David Habib was handed the three day suspension by the liquor branch back in 2012 after police saw a man wearing gang clothing inside the club.

Anti-gang conditions had been placed on the night club’s license.

A BC Supreme court justice later ruled that the suspension was too severe for a first offence.

But this week The BC Court of Appeal sided with the B.C. Liquor Control and Licensing Branch, upholding the three day suspension.

The nightclub at one time was linked to the Hells Angels but Habib maintains he has nothing to do with the biker gang.
