Russia storms back to take gold

Four Russian goals in thirteen minutes of the third period has given them a 4-3 lead late at the gold medal game of the 2010 IIHF World Junior Hockey tournament.

Team Canada captain Ryan Ellis scored early to the delight of the many Canadian fans attending the game at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo.

Carter Ashton fired home Canada’s second goal near the end of the period.

Braydon Schenn added another marker in the second frame.

Play turned chippy from the halfway point, with Canada defending several penalties including near the end.

Canada enters the third period with a 46-second man disadvantage.

Artemi Panarin and Maxim Kitsyn responded for Russia, with Vladimir Tarasenko capping the shocking comeback.

Panarin scored again to put Russia ahead late.
