More than 300,000 people in the Greater Toronto Area lost power on Dec. 21 and several dozen were still waiting to be connected on New Year’s Day.

The Manitoba Hydro workers returned home on Tuesday, a week earlier than originally expected.

Some of the line men planned to celebrate Christmas with their families when they returned.
