CALGARY – Dozens of brave Calgarians welcomed in the New Year by taking an icy plunge into the freezing waters of Discovery Ridge Pond on Wednesday.
It’s all part of the fifth annual Icebreaker Dip organized by Old Guys in Action – a group that encourages active lifestyles and organizes events to raise money for charity.

This year, the event raised money for the Servants Anonymous Foundation, which provides long-term recovery programs for survivors of human trafficking.
Organizers were hoping to raise $60,000, and say they exceeded their expectations, bringing in about $70,000.
