Justin Timberlake was arrested in the Hamptons in Long Island, N.Y. early Tuesday, Sag Harbor police confirmed.

The pop star was arrested on charges related to driving while intoxicated (DWI) in Sag Harbor, according to court documents obtained by CBS News.

The documents allege Timberlake, 43, was pulled over by police after he drove his BMW through a stop sign at Madison Street and Jermain Avenue, and his car was seen weaving on the road.

The responding officer said the Mirrors singer was “in an intoxicated condition” with bloodshot eyes. Police also claimed there was a “strong odor” of alcohol on Timberlake’s breath.

Though Timberlake told authorities he drank only one martini, he “performed poorly” during a sobriety test, the documents maintain.

Authorities told Global News more information would become available later today.

Timberlake was arraigned around 9:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday morning.

A representative for Timberlake has yet to comment on the incident.

Timberlake was released Tuesday on his own recognizance without a set bail.

His next court appearance is scheduled for July 26.

The former NSYNC member is currently touring his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was, with two shows scheduled in Chicago this weekend.
