Saskatoon police said a 44-year-old man died in a collision Friday afternoon after a semi-truck accident on Circle Drive North near the Attridge overpass.
The truck had flipped over and was smoking, according to a release from Saskatoon police. Civilians who witnessed the accident tried to remove the driver, who was trapped inside.
Saskatoon Fire was able to get the driver out before he was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later.
“Police wish to recognize the commendable efforts of several witnesses that stopped to render their assistance at the scene in the immediate aftermath of the collision,” read the release from police.
