WINNIPEG — Winter has officially arrived, but you can bet most Manitobans felt like it got here weeks ago.

Dec. 21 marks the first day of winter and also has the least daylight of the year.

Winnipeg woke up to temperatures of -28 C Saturday morning. With the wind chill, it felt more like -38. 

Tonight the temperature will dip below -30 C with extreme wind chill warnings of -43.

Tonight in Churchill it could feel like -49 with the windchill.
