SASKATOON – Local motorists will start getting real tickets from the red light camera at 33rd Street and Idylwyld Drive.

The 30-day grace period was issuing warning tickets to help drivers become familiar with the newly installed technology.

Cameras operate 24/7 to capture still images and video of vehicles when they run a red light.

Starting Friday, if motorists run a red light at the intersection then they are required to pay tickets received in the mail.

Running a red light comes in at $250.

This is the fourth intersection in the city with red light safety cameras.
