VANCOUVER – The outdoor skating rink at Robson Square is now open.
The popular skating rink, located next to the Vancouver Art Gallery, is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
It is free of charge, with skate rentals available for $3.
"As Canadians, there are few things more festive than being able to skate on an outdoor rink during the winter season," Premier Gordon Campbell said in a statement issued Sunday.
The rink is expected to open every winter. The province is also planning year-round activities at Robson Square, which will get underway when construction work is complete in the spring, the statement said.
The skating rink will be open daily until the end of February 2011, weather permitting.
