VERNON — The BC SPCA in Vernon says it’s been the victim of the Grinch.

Staff from the facility came to work and discovered a huge mess after someone broke into the shelter over the weekend.

“We don’t know why someone would break in,” says Corinne Ross, Vernon branch manager. “Nothing seems to be missing. Any motive is a mystery.”

Ross isn’t completely sure how the person or people got in, but noticed there’s a hole on the outside of the building.

She believes someone may have climbed through the hole and fell into a room where they stored vaccines and antibotics.

“It certainly wasn’t Santa trying to come down the chimney,” says Ross. “There were no gifts for our animals.”
