A spokesman for Alberta Health Services confirmed a man in his early 20s fell “a significant distance” down the escalator at the Shaw Conference Centre around 10:50 p.m. on Saturday night.
The man was taken by Emergency Medical Services to the Royal Alexandra Hospital with serious injuries. His condition is unknown at this time. The Shaw Conference Centre is hosting Riderville.
There are suggestions the man was trying to slide down the escalator when he fell.
