TRURO, N.S. – Lawyers for three young people accused in the death of a Halifax-area teenager say they will seek bail for their respective clients.
Kyle Brian Gowen, 22, Steven Shaun Gowen, 21, and Amanda Allison Greene, 18, are accused of killing Dillon Blair Jewett of Dartmouth.
Jewett’s body was discovered by all-terrain vehicle riders on Oct. 3 near a quarry.
The three accused made brief and separate appearances Thursday in Shubenacadie provincial court where the Crown withdrew individual charges and jointly charged the three with first-degree murder.
They were remanded to custody until a court appearance scheduled for Jan. 13, when dates for a preliminary inquiry are expected to be set.
However, a bail hearing for the two men, who are from Eastern Passage, is scheduled for Dec. 8 in Windsor.
A lawyer for Greene, a resident of Cow Bay, says he will also pursue a bail hearing for his client.
