But a new crash involving two semis is blocking Highway 1 west of Sicamous near the Canoe mill. RCMP are on scene. A cattle trailer is said to be involved.

RCMP were called shortly after 9:30 last night to the Eagle River bridge in Malakwa, and found a Ford Bronco had lost control and crashed. It rolled and came to rest in the middle of the highway.

The driver of the Bronco was able to exit the vehicle unharmed, however, three tractor trailer units all became involved in the accident.

There were no injuries to any of the drivers but the tractor trailer units had blocked the bridge.

A tractor trailer unit became engulfed in flames following the accident.

The BC Ministry of Transportation is assessing the structural integrity of the bridge and has allowed alternating traffic to move across the 60 year old, narrow structure.

Traffic is backed up for several kilometres in each direction and could take some time to completely clear.

Drive B.C. has updated information about delays.
