WINNIPEG — You can add Winnipeg to the growing list of NHL cities that will be hosting an outdoor game, CJOB’s Bob Irving reports.
At this week’s NHL board of governors meetings in California, Commissioner Gary Bettman confirmed Winnipeg will get an outdoor game in 2016, Winnipeg Jets co-owner Mark Chipman said.

Chipman first said he’d love to bring a Heritage Classic to Winnipeg more than a year ago.
The game will probably be in February at Investors Group Field, which would be expanded to hold 41,000 fans.
No specific details, such as who the Jets would play, have been announced.
Bettman also confirmed next season’s salary cap will rise to roughly $71 million from the current $64 million.
