A surprise donation of $25,000 from Canadian singer Michael Buble was the icing on the cake for staff at the annual CKNW Orphans’ Fund Pledge Day last Friday.

The day raised a record-breaking $1,928,378.

“It is a privilege for me to be involved with an organization with such heart. For over 60 years, the CKNW Orphans’ Fund has had the opportunity to brighten children’s lives in BC and we are thrilled about the support that British Columbians provided on Pledge Day. The donations will give us the ability to fund children that need it the most in this province,” says president of the Vancouver Giants hockey team and CKNW Orphans’ Fund Board Chair Ron Toigo.
