McDougald is accused of second-degree murder.

He was arrested in late October after his son, 45-year-old Terry McDougald, was shot over what RCMP say was a property dispute.

McDougald’s January court appearance could include a bail hearing.

He is also charged with attempted murder and pointing a firearm.

Police have said the son and two other men went to the older McDougald’s rural home to claim property when someone shot at them.
