‘The Blacklist’ renewed for a second season

TORONTO — Crime drama The Blacklist will have a sophomore season.

NBC announced Tuesday it has renewed the series, which stars James Spader, Megan Boone and Nova Scotia’s Diego Klattenhoff.

The network ordered 22 episodes for the 2014-15 season based on the show’s success in its first season.

It airs Monday nights in Canada on Global. (Catch up on the whole season with the GlobalGo app.)

Spader plays Raymond “Red” Reddington, a career criminal who works with a special division of the FBI to bring down major criminals. Boone and Klattenhoff play agents.

The Blacklist will be back with three new episodes in January before taking a break for coverage of the Olympic Winter Games.
