Veteran MLA chosen as Speaker of N.B. legislature

FREDERICTON, N.B. – Members of the New Brunswick legislature have chosen Conservative Dale Graham as their new Speaker.

Graham has been the member for the riding of Carleton since 1993 and served as deputy premier under the Tory government of Bernard Lord.

Premier David Alward announced Graham as his personal choice for the job earlier this month when the new cabinet was announced.

The legislature is expected to sit next month, with a throne speech on Nov. 23.
