Ron Burgundy keeps curling classy

WINNIPEG — The biggest curling event of the year kicked off in Winnipeg on Sunday with an air of excitement.

Roar of the Rings slid into action at the MTS Centre with movie star Will Ferrell, otherwise known as Ron Burgundy, as a guest commentator.

“I’m really enjoying Winnipeg, the Paris of Canada, as it’s known,” he said in a media scrum.

Burgundy threw a couple of rocks and bragged about his knowledge of curling, yet his skills could use some practice. 

Fans were thrilled to see the anchorman, many yelling his name as his walked on the ice to address the crowd before the first draw.

The movie Anchorman 2, which takes a satirical look at television news, opens in theatres on Dec. 18.
