MAYMONT, Sask. – A multi-vehicle crash closed east and westbound traffic on Highway 16 just west of Maymont, Sask. on Saturday.

Around 10:15 a.m., there was an initial collision between vehicles travelling in the eastbound lane.

Shortly after, westbound vehicles that slowed to view the crash were involved in a second collision.

Due to foggy conditions, police say additional vehicles were unable to avoid the crash scene and either became involved or went into the ditch.

Approximately 25 vehicles and six semi trucks were involved.

Mounties do not believe alcohol was a factor.

STARS air ambulance was dispatched to transport a patient to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.

MD Ambulance says a total of 13 patients were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
