Meet your moderator and panelists >>> Andy Nulman Andy Nulman is a dynamic force in creating and leading major disruptions for over 45 years. He co-founded and was the CEO of Play The Future, Inc., a forward-thinking digital platform/brand marketing tool that converted big data points of major brands, world events, and the daily news cycle into consumer engagement and entertainment. Andy also served as President of Montreal’s renowned Just For Laughs International Comedy Festival twice, from 1985 until 1999, and again from July 2010 until September 2015. During the decade in between, he was President and CMO of Airborne Technology Ventures, a pioneering mobile media and marketing company. Andy has written three books, including his latest, “Pow! Right between The Eyes! Profiting From The Element of Surprise.” He was named one of the “Top 40 Under 40” business leaders by the Financial Post in 1997, voted one of the Top 100 Montrealers of the 20th Century by the Montreal Gazette in 2000, and honored as a distinguished recipient of the McGill Management Achievement Award in 2004. Jake Karls Jake Karls is the Co-founder and Chief Rainmaker of Mid-Day Squares and a visionary entrepreneur from Montreal with a growth-focused mindset. He has redefined the way consumers interact with food through the power of storytelling. His company, Midday-Squares, has transformed the CPG industry by incorporating drama, emotion, and transparency, and has won the loyalty of fans – not just customers – across North America. In addition to building the core team, Jake has a passion for establishing genuine relationships with investors, buyers, and journalists. He inspires others to embrace their true selves and to “get comfortable with the uncomfortable.” He believes that inspiration can come from unexpected sources, such as the show “Keeping up with the Kardashians,” and that visibility can be gained even through dancing. Jake’s exceptional character is evident through his willingness to share his valuable insights gained from past failures and exhibit his vulnerabilities. He has successfully harnessed these experiences to achieve his current position and is remarkably open to sharing his “secrets” to success. Jake’s impressive accomplishments include being recognized as an EY Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist and being named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 class of 2023. However, he considers his greatest achievement to be learning how to be confident in himself.
