The ACT welcomes another trio of the finest Canadian stand-up comedians to the Mainstage in a raucous, laugh-out-loud evening that will leave you smiling. Just what the doctor ordered. Known for his clever and insightful comedy, Jacob Samuel is a JUNO award-winning Canadian stand up comic, cartoonist, and writer based in Vancouver, BC. His TV performances have featured nationally on CBC Television, The Comedy Network, Crave, and CBC Gem. On radio, Jacob can be heard on Sirius XM and CBC’s The Debaters. He has appeared multiple times at both the Montreal Just for Laughs and Winnipeg Comedy Festivals. In 2021, Jacob won the JUNO Award for “Comedy Album of the Year” for his debut album Horse Power. As a single-panel cartoonist, Jacob has published two books and has been published in The New Yorker and several other major publications. Nigerian-born comedian Ola Dada has quickly made a name for himself in the Vancouver comedy scene, appearing at the Vancouver Just For Laughs Festival in 2020. In 2019, he was a runner-up in the Canada-wide “SiriusXM Top Comic Competition” and appeared on CBC’s The New Wave of Stand Up. Often flexing his creativity by posting comedy sketches on his social media platforms, Ola is known for his fun, light-hearted comedy, and uses his life experience as material – being raised in Fort McMurray in a Nigerian home, living in Vancouver, and the contrast in values and views on life, religion, and relationships. To watch Myles Anderson’s comedy is to see a man unravel and then re-ravel himself onstage. Combining traditional jokes with bird-like movements, Myles was a finalist in the 2017 Seattle International Comedy Competition and can be heard on Laugh Out Loud and The Debaters on CBC Radio. In July 2019, he released his debut album, Myles From Home, with 604 Records, and appeared on the compilation album JFL Northwest Best of The West 2.
