An inspiring weekend of arts & nature experienced as a self-guided tour across 12 North Shore garden spaces, Arts in the Garden is an opportunity to connect with nature through art. It is a celebration of creativity, with visual and performance art experiences set in spectacular backdrops. We encourage you to explore, be curious, reflect, and have fun! The garden spaces will feature live music, an array of natural landscapes, and visual artists leading engaging art activities. You are invited to wander through the twelve garden spaces, immersing yourself in nature, enjoying music from local musicians, and admiring visual art ranging from paintings to jewelry. There are 5 special performances throughout the weekend including dance, movement, and poetry. Plan your tour using our digital or print brochure to catch all the performances! New this year, Feathers & Fungi offers unique all-ages workshops that integrate knowledge about the land with movement and art. This is the 23rd year of Arts in the Garden. Hosted by North Van Arts, Art in the Garden has traditionally been held on the last weekend of May offering an unforgettable celebration of visual art and music in private North Shore gardens. Since 1999, visitors have had an opportunity to visit over 100 private gardens to connect with visual artists, artisans, and gardeners while enjoying performances by local musicians in unique surroundings. In 2021, the event shifted to become Arts in the Garden, opening up the programming to feature a wider range of offerings and art-forms while continuing to celebrate nature, arts and music, and, in 2022, is expanding again to integrate public garden spaces. The event opens space for creativity, rest and play, and an opportunity for visitors to reflect on their relationship and responsibility to the lands they live on, and the communities to which they belong.
