Springboard Performance is partnering with Chinook Blast, The Parks Foundation, Village Brewery, and Rise Up Calgary! for a celebration of local Calgarian artists, artisans, and architects. All alongside the award-winning coffee and hot chocolate of VHF coffee. containR has no walls, we are a constellation of spaces, people, platforms, and ideas nestled in the neighborhood of Sunnyside. We seek to inspire new ways of creative thinking and gathering. Powered by passion, the featured artists and containR creative teamwork at the forefront of art, performance, and community to develop, produce, and present immersive experiences. Harnessing the power of creativity to transport us into an imagined future and playful present where nature’s resilience and winter wonder takes center stage amongst our city of arts dreamers, empowering community to dream our future anew. The bright dancing lights of the aurora are actually collisions between electrically charged particles from the sun that enter the earth’s atmosphere. Northern lights appear in many forms from patches or scattered clouds of light to streamers, arcs, rippling curtains or shooting rays that light up the sky with an eerie glow. Northern Lights is part of Chinook Blast, which is Calgary’s six-week winter festival celebration that brings together partners from the arts, nonprofit, neighbourhood, tourism, and sports communities to create an inclusive event that showcases the best of our city. Our vision is to build a uniquely Calgary winter experience that draws visitors from all corners of Calgary and all around the world. Chinook Blast will run from January 21 – February 27, 2022.
