Shari Ulrich Trio with Blue Moon Marquee

On Saturday, February 22nd, the Bow Valley Music Club presents Shari Ulrich Trio with Blue Moon Marquee! Feature Act:  Shari Ulrich is a celebrated touring recording artist and multi-instrumentalist (violin, mandolin, piano, guitar, dulcimer, harmonica). From Pied Pumkin through The Hometown Band, and now as a solo artist with 25 albums – including UHF, Barney Bentall & Tom Taylor (BTU), and more recently The High Bar Gang, a 7-piece bluegrass band. Her work has garnered Juno awards and nominations, induction into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame, and a 2014 CFMA for Songwriter of the Year.  Opening Act:  Blue Moon Marquee is a Gypsy Blues band that currently makes its home in an island shack on the coast of the Salish Sea. A.W. Cardinal (vocals/guitar) and Jasmine Colette a.k.a. Badlands Jass (vocals/bass/drums) write and perform original compositions influenced by anything that swings, jumps or grooves. Deeply infused in the soul of their music are Louis Armstrong, Blind Willie Jonson, Charley Patton, Howlin’ Wolf, Screaming Jay Hawkins, Memphis Minnie, and Django Reinhardt. The show will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Strathcona Christie Aspen Community Centre (277 Strathcona Drive SW, Calgary). Doors open at 7:00 PM. The opening act starts at 7:50 PM and the feature act starts at approximately 9:00 PM.
