The Fairy Queen is a playful and piecemeal adaptation of Henry Purcell’s semi-opera. Since September, co-directors Peter Balkwill (Drama), Melanie Kloetzel (Dance) and Laura Hynes (Music), conductor Julie Harris, and over 40 student performers have been rehearsing this unique project. This devised production tackles contemporary themes, and smashes sonnets and dance together with a baroque soundscape.
