The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia presents renowned Sami vocalist Mari Boine on October 5, 2019, at 8pm in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. “Tremulous, ethereal and powerfully intimate” (The Telegraph), Mari Boine’s trailblazing and utterly distinct sound draws influence from the traditional yoik chants of her Indigenous ancestry, Norwegian folksong, and the sounds of the natural world.
