Art Exhibit: DIMENSIONS 2019

EXHIBITION DATES: May 4th through July 6th.  AWARDS GALA: Friday, May 31st (Cocktails at 6:00pm, Program at 7:00pm).  RECEPTION: Friday, May 31st, 8:30pm to 10:00pm.

DIMENSIONS is one of the few juried exhibitions where the jurors can select from the physical pieces, rather than photographs of the works, which allows for a nuanced and considerate selection.

DIMENSIONS encourages Saskatchewan artists to push themselves creatively and technically.  Selected works are unique, incorporating individual expression that transcend technique; works have content as well as achieving technical and creative excellence.

This year, 219 works were submitted by 135 artists including 40 emerging artists.  Our Jurors, Felicia Gay and Kye-Yeon Son, were hard pressed to choose 35 pieces for the exhibition.  The Jurors were also tasked with deciding which pieces might merit an award.

DIMENSIONS offers $12,500 worth of awards.  Join us at the AWARDS GALA as we celebrate Saskatchewan contemporary craft!  

DIMENSIONS 2019 – The exhibition is a small jewel that showcases the many facets of Saskatchewan fine craft: stone sculpture, knife making, hand felting, jewellery making, furniture making, wood turning…  There are so many beautiful examples of design, creativity, skill, and layered meaning in these works.  It is a MUST SEE show!
