Celebrate the 30th season of Kensington Sinfonia – Calgary’s original string ensemble! Flora and fauna have long been a natural source of sonic inspiration, and Kensington Sinfonia’s November 4th concert explores how a variety of composers have channelled this into their music. Come experience the unique musical landscape created by this collection of environmentally-minded works, from Vaughan Williams’s classic beauty “Lark Ascending” to Kensington Sinfonia’s very own Donovan Seidle’s musical depiction of the chinook phenomenon so familiar to Albertans. The concert takes place at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Hope Lutheran Church (3527 Boulton Road NW, Calgary). Tickets are $25 (general) / $20 (students/seniors) / FREE (children 12 and under) and are available online through http://www.kensingtonsinfonia.ca or at the door. For more information, visit http://www.kensingtonsinfonia.ca or call (403) 451-8287.
