Progressions

When Don Portelance, long time artist and Fort Gallery member, started working on his new show at the Fort Gallery, he soon realized he would need every bit of space on the gallery walls. Always interested in exploring a wide range of subjects with a variety of approaches, he saw his work moving in two separate directions. One is a series of abstractions including six large banners based on personal life experiences; the other, more recognizable abstractions inspired by his travels. Although different, the two themes have much in common and come together to make a unified statement. Progressions will open at the Fort Gallery in Fort Langley, on September 19 and run until October 14. Everyone is welcome to attend the opening event, which will take place on Saturday, September 22, from 1-4 pm.
