This summer, Honens brings the world’s finest emerging pianists to Calgary for an internationally renowned piano competition and ten days of extraordinary music-making. The Honens International Piano Competition awards the largest prize of its kind—$100,000 and an Artist Development Program valued at a half-million dollars.
Ten pianists advance from the Quarterfinals in Berlin and New York to perform a solo recital and a collaborative concert with Phillip Addis (baritone) and Jonathan Crow (violin). Semifinals sessions include one of each recital and take place twice daily.
Semifinalists and their order of performance will be announced 8 May 2018. Finalists will be announced 3 September 2018.
