Winnipeg’s Best Kept Secret! The name Bryan Schwartz may be familiar to Winnipeggers who know him as an award-winning law professor and as a lawyer who has argued cases in the Supreme Court of Canada, advised governments in legislation, and served as an arbitrator in international disputes. Consoulation: A Musical Meditation by Bryan Schwartz is a story about faith, realism, and the consolation of art. It is the story of Isaac Erevan, a middle-aged Jewish man who has just lost his father, and who responds to his own son’s question, “Is your father in Heaven?” with stories and songs as he reflects back on his own life, his father’s and of generations. The original songs are variously moving, funny, wistful and searching. A CD and book version of Consoulation will be available at all performances. April 23, 24, 26, 27 @ 7:30pm Tickets: $20 @ GSAC, 204-284-9477  Director: Ross McMillan (HBO Canada, Theatre Passe Muraille, RMTC, Winnipeg Fringe) Cast: Tom Anniko (HBO Canada, PTE, RMTC; various film & TV) Katy Hedalen (Vocal instructor @ CMU) Kevin Klassen (Citadel Theatre, PTE, Rainbow Stage, RMTC, SIR, WJT) Simon Miron (Dry Cold, Rainbow Stage, Those Guys, Winnipeg Studio Theatre, WSO)
