Maya Person was a compassionate and beautiful young woman who was always willing to help others.
Instead of doing a gift exchange, Maya wanted to volunteer at an organization with her friends.
Maya passed away in November of 2016 but her family and friends are keeping her alive in spirit.
Now, her family has declared December 17th, Maya’s Day. Her family and friends are honouring her wish for the second year by going to different organizations to volunteer in honour of Maya’s Day.
If you know families that are struggling to make ends meet and would enjoy a hot meal, please extend an invite to them to attend the Maya’s Day dinner (no charge) on Sunday December 17th at Kildonan United Church Hall. To reserve a spot call the Church office at 204-334-7022 and leave a message with the number of people attending. Doors open at 5:00 pm with dinner served at 5:30 pm. Please reserve your spot, space is limited.
