JimCon, Winnipeg’s annual tabletop games convention, is a family-friendly event offering attendees the opportunity to play different board, card, miniature and role-playing games. JimCon offers organized game sessions, tournaments and a library of more than 500 tabletop games, as well as local vendors and 13 local game designers demonstrating their creations. The games that are featured in this year’s tournaments include: Kingdomino, BrilliAnts, Red Dragon Inn, Captain Sonar, Secrets, Bears, Astronomi-con and Formula D. JimCon will be held at the Bronx Park Community Centre at 720 Henderson Highway. It starts on Nov. 17, with doors opening at 5:15 p.m. and running until 1 a.m. It is open from 8 a.m. until 1 a.m. on Saturday and from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday. A weekend pass is $30. Single-day passes for Friday and Sunday are $15 each. A single-day pass for Saturday is $20. Children under six are free. JimCon is a cash-only event.
