Join Luminous Voices as they kick off their fifth anniversary season on Sunday, October 15th at the Bella Concert Hall, Mount Royal University. This concert features Arvo Pärt’s “Berliner Messe” (“Berlin Mass”), a work for choir and string orchestra. Known for writing in a style that is unmistakably his own, Pärt is one of the most widely performed and recorded composers of our time. The programme also includes works by Johannes Brahms, Tarik O’Regan, and a staple of contemporary choral repertoire, the “Mass for Double Choir” by Frank Martin. Luminous Voices is Calgary’s professional chamber choir, bringing together singers from around the continent to join with some of the Calgary’s top vocal talent. With the Artistic Director Timothy Shantz, this unique mixture of artists leads to vital and fresh interpretations of great choral music.
